Personal Statement
Teaching Spanish is my passion. I love my culture, and I love sharing it with my students. As a language learner myself, I understand that learning a different language is a journey that can be daunting to a beginner, and as such I work to make my lessons as dynamic as possible. I strive to show my students the beauty and richness of the language, and the Hispanic/Latinx culture. My goal is for my students to appreciate the value of being bilingual, and to be confident and comfortable in their language skills. In my classes, communicating in the target language is explored through movement, music, technology, and storytelling. In addition, my students are exposed to a wide variety of authentic resources. I believe that learning another language can open doors to new opportunities, allowing us to learn more about ourselves and our own culture while appreciating differences in the world around us.
