St. Mary Elementary School Happenings
Author Lisa Wheeler Visits
Noted children's Author Lisa Wheeler visited St. Mary on March 12th. A forty-five minutes program introduced the kids to several aspects of the writing life. They learned what three things every story in the world needs. They experienced what a writer keeps in her invisible toolbox. Lisa shared her passion for woolly mammoths and the research involved in writing her non-fiction title, Mammoths On The Move and they found out, through Lisa’s puppet friend Cushion the porcupine, why she likes being an author. Lisa also read one of her books.

St. Patrick Day Parade March 15, 2008
Once again St. Mary participated in the Oakland County St. Patrick Day parade in downtown Royal Oak. A number of families braved the chilly weather to march with pride alongside our award winning float "The Little School with the Big Heart." Thanks goes to the Puchalski family for once again pulling everything together and getting the float ready for the parade.
